Case Study of the School Feeding Program in Distrito Federal, Brazil: Building Quality in Short Food Supply Chains

This article seeks to analyze the public procurement program for school feeding in Distrito Federal, Brazil from perspective of short food supply chains (SFSCs) and quality construction. Semi-structured interviews were applied key actors involved Program. The results this research show that, mainly through regulations around Food Nutritional Security encouragement local family farmer markets, State has acted a shift purchases and, by means norms such as laws, decrees, normative instructions, induced change production consumption processes. study contributed an understanding how Executing Entities states are working acquire agricultural products, which benefits farmers improves meals.
